*A PICTURE OF HOPE*
(A Psalm 30:5 poem)
By Feyisayo M. Olufemi
Last evening came as a wave
Hadn’t changed from it’s old ways
Back to the west, the sun found its way
Even the greens stopped the sways
And slowly with pains, I saw it wither
My blossom beauty, I watched in shiver
The petals gone and no nectars neither
They say it’s nature, so I couldn’t wither
All that I could hear was “now it’s over”
Yet, the morning came with so much light
Betraying it’s bed, the sun kissed the sky
All the birds up there feeling fly
And from afar, I saw the sight!
My love was here!!!
On its brown tiny stalk, sitting without troubles
In the midst of the greens, it purples
In all shades of majesty
A full blown royalty!
Even the dew couldn’t resist
Pearling on its frail petals in cysts
Butterflies flying in their beauties, left and right
To suck it’s nectar like it’s their right
Blossom! My love, blossom!
The morning is here to show you how
Blossom! My love, blossom!
For nothing can stop you now
Last night was full of sorrows
But there you are my love, in the morrow
And yes, there’s always a chance of tomorrow
For after tomorrow, there’d be a tomorrow….
A perfect picture of hope!
