Hey everyone! Happy holidays. Hope you are all having a wonderful time? Please enjoy this little Christmas message from Ayokunle to you. Don’t forget to please share and comment.
Another year. Another Christmas.
Christmas is meant to be the most beautiful time of the year. A period of love, of giving, of cheerfulness and most importantly reflection. I decided from the beginning of the year that Christmas would be amazing this time unlike last time. You can check out my last Christmas post on how to get the Christmas spirit up. http://theolivebranch.me/news/christmas-special
I’m home now and for some of our readers wondering where home is. Home is a small town in Nigeria.
Nigeria is in a crisis and no one seems to be talking. There is fuel scarcity, no electricity and of course, no money. This country is getting too hard to live in. For the average class, it has become difficult. For the low class, it has become a battle between life or death. I am not going to use this whole post to discuss Nigeria. I am just showing you why the Christmas spirit is good as dead in my city.
But I decided to take a break from all the noise and chaos and actually reflect like I always do every year. My mantra has always been to look on the brighter side no matter the situation and trust me, it’s not as easy as it sounds.
God has still been good and he has shown himself in ways I could never imagine but most importantly he has made me to understand that love is something that can’t be overemphasized. Loving the people who have wronged you and loving yourself. The greatest thing is being able to love yourself. You have to be able to do that before you can love someone else and it’s a gradual thing. It’s almost difficult to love all of you at once. Loving your flaws, your mistakes, your strengths and your achievements. I want to encourage everyone out there, use this period and take a breather, I want you to focus and still try to make something out of nothing. Before you start to show love to many people around you, Love yourself! Let the love you show to people be genuine and now make sense. I know the situation around us isn’t helping but we do not know how our decisions will affect the other person. Don’t be selfish this season, Do your good no matter how little and cherish the moments you spend.
I pray and believe deeply that things would be better for us Nigerians and for our readers in other countries, I pray for a Christmas miracle for whoever reading this. Just believe.
The year has almost ended. Do not let history repeat itself next year. Do better and be better. There’s so much out there to conquer and achieve. Do not let your limitations now stop you from being great. Everyone has that tendency to be great. Just believe
Have a safe and wonderful holiday.
