THOSE WHO ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO MARRY
I warmly welcome you to the March edition of our Singles World for 2022. In this edition, I will be discussing with you the ninth characteristic of those who are not qualified to marry. May you not fall into error after knowing the truth in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Don’t Marry a Pretender
A Pretender: It is very easy to marry pretenders these days. This is because the fervour and the fire of Christianity have been whittled down by the new age and modern Christianity that brought ease, worldliness and liberalisation into Christianity. These modern-day preachers have turned the grace of God into lasciviousness making the pews and the sanctuary of God the abode of all sorts. To them, the end justifies the means. That is, you can marry anyone irrespective of his or her religious persuasions provided you love each other. Yet, the word of God remains infallible.
There are a lot of pretenders in the world as well as in the church today both among the congregation and among the priests. Yet, all of them want to get married to the children of light. Many of these bad guys in our world want to end up marrying godly sisters when they are ungodly. Can you imagine that! I have seen husbands who said that their wives were not like this before marriage. I have also seen wives who said that their husbands were not like this before. A man ran to his pastor after his wedding and told his pastor that his wife was a devil. In fact, from his experience and narratives, the wife was a real devil even though she was moderate in her dressing without any make-up and jewellery. Alas! It was too late to cry out.
Pretenders are the most dangerous people to identify because they appear like real people. Pretenders are shammers, impostors, dissemblers, hypocrites and deceivers. According to the Bible, pretenders come in sheep’s clothing but inwardly they are ravening wolves- Matthew 7:15. They appear good like sheep but they are deadly like wolves. Unfortunately, many sheep have married to wolves inside the church today ignorantly only to discover later.
Today, we have the following examples of pretenders in the church who creep into the church to snatch away our innocent godly brothers and sisters:
Unbelievers who pretend to be believers.
Christians who pretend to have come from rich homes when their parents are indeed very poor. Some of them put on borrowed clothes to deceive and attract lovers.
Smokers and alcoholics who mask their tongues and pose as saints.
Divorcees who pretend to be singles.
Impotent men who pretend as if nothing is wrong with them.
Women without uterus and ovaries who pretend as if all is well with them.
Yahoo guys and ritualists appear like good brothers.
Marine girls who sing in the choir or interpret for the pastor as godly sisters.
Contentious and quarrelsome sisters who come to the church as quiet and holy sisters.
A quiet and calm looking brother who pretends as a born again Christian.
Delilahs who are looking for men of God to marry.
Lustful and immoral Amnons who are looking for innocent Christian sisters to seduce and deflower.
Worldly brothers like Demas who will stay for a while in the Lord and then go back to the world.
A thief like Judas in the Church who pretends to be a godly instrumentalist.
Religious people like Nicodemus who are not born again at all.
A brother with a sweet-coated tongue and good British accent who sings gospel songs whereas he is an entertainer and a member of a secret cult.
Pastors and G.O.’s who are in fact agents of darkness. Some of them are cocaine pushers, members of the Illuminati, spiritualists, extortionists etc. They use their wealth, ‘anointing,’ ‘miracles,’ sweet messages, and motivational speeches to deceive the innocent sisters.
Dropouts and loafers who pretend to be what they are not. They claim to have what they do not have. They are boasters. They are wells without water according to 2 Peter 2:17. They are clouds without water according to Jude 12.
The list is endless. Now let us check some examples of pretenders in the Bible:
Jacob: In Genesis 27, the Bible says that Jacob deceived his father Isaac by pretending to be Esau. He thus robbed Esau his brother his divine blessings through deceit. In verse 22, Isaac said, “The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.” People can talk and sing like Christians but their hands are the hands of gorillas. It is very easy to act as Christians through imitation. Pretenders in the church today have the voice of Christians but they have the heart of the devil. Isaac asked him in verse 24 because he was suspicious “Art thou my very son Esau? And he said I am.” When you ask that guy, ‘Are you a Christian? The answer will always be, I am. When you ask him, “Are you a child of God?” The answer will be, I am when in fact he is a child of Satan. Only God can reveal a pretender to you.
Pretenders will not tell you the truth. No pretender will say, “No, I am a cultist, I am not a child of God” or “I am a marine agent, I have come to deceive you.” After Isaac had been deceived by Jacob the pretender, the Bible says Isaac kissed Jacob. It is like when you fall in love with a pretender ignorantly. Isaac released all his love and anointing upon this deceiver just as you give all your love to that pretender only to discover after marriage that you have been scammed. There are many Jacobs in the church today who are deceiving our sisters with their hairy bodies, savoury meat, bread, ice cream, chocolate, wine, money, IPhones and all the dazzling things of life. Painfully, the Bible says in Genesis 27:23 “And he discerned him not.” Please, watch out for pretenders who want to rob you of your destiny. Be careful of what you eat, what you drink and what you wear. Be careful of gifts.
Amnon: This evil guy burned with lust for his sister. On the evil advice of Jonadab, Amnon pretended to be ill so that his sister could come into his bedroom and give him food. And when she came, Amnon raped his sister, Tamar by pretending to be ill- 2 Samuel 13:5. Many Tamars have been slain by Amnons in the church today through pretence. There are brothers like Amnon that are full of sexual lusts for our sisters. They hide under love to propose marriage to them. Like an innocent Tamar, she starts visiting him and then the trouble starts. The deed is done. There are brothers like Amnon in the church today.
Pretenders look like doves at the beginning but after marriage, they come out like snakes. They appear as sheep during courtship but after your wedding, they show themselves as ravening wolves. You need prayers, patience and discernment to recognise them. Pay attention to your dreams, visions, revelations and the word of God for guidance. Do some physical and spiritual investigations secretly about him/her before you marry him/her.
Isaac could not discern the deception of Jacob. Don’t be like Isaac. Cry unto God to help you and don’t let any brother or sister rush you to the altar and alter your destiny painfully, irreparably and irredeemably for any reason. Even after you had said yes to his proposal and you discovered that he is a pretender, please, quit without looking back. If you discover that the sister is a pretender after she had said yes to your proposal, apologise to her and flee from her, please. Don’t let her charm, beauty and chassis hook you- Proverbs 31:30. You will not fall into the hands of pretenders. Please don’t marry a pretender if you want to enjoy your life and live long. If you are a pretender, don’t marry. If you marry, don’t expect your marriage to be merry.
By the grace of God, we will continue from here next month. Please, don’t forget to send me your comments and testimonies. Till then, stay safe and God bless you. Amen.
