THE QUESTIONS SINGLES ASK 17-
Welcome back to the May edition of our singles world. In this edition, I will continue from where I stopped last month on the lies that young people of today believe before going into marriage. I believe the Lord will fill your heart with understanding and grant you the desires of your heart in the name of Jesus Christ.
Question: What are the lies that young people of today believe before going into marriage?
Answer: This is a very good question. Some of the lies are these:

That women are men’s caps: They believe that when the cap is too tight for you, remove it and look for a more comfortable one. In order words, women can be changed anytime. This is another lie and a strong prejudice against women. I agree that a man must look for a woman that fits into his life. Similarly, a woman must also look for a man that fits into her life. It is only in this sense that this statement can be used.

Therefore, both men and women are caps for one another. Women are not caps that can be worn and removed frivolously to satisfy the man’s whims and caprices. If we accept this lie, it means we accept divorce, adultery and polygamy as legal and biblical. The Bible does not support any of these. This lie is meant to treat women as dispensable and expendable beings in marriage that can be changed whenever we like. This lie is from the pit of hell.

Marriage is permanent, whereas caps are temporary. Women are God’s creatures but caps are creatures of men. Marriage is God’s own creation but caps are man-made. This lie will make men to abuse and maltreat their wives. It also implies that women are mere appendages to men just as caps are worn to complement men’s wears. Women are nor accessories or attachments to men. Genesis 2:23 says “And Adam said this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Adam did not say “this is now the cap of my head.” Eve was part of Adam because she was taken out of Adam. That is why they are no longer two but one flesh. You don’t use caps all the time except when it is needed especially when there is a ceremony to attend. If we believe this lie, it then means that women are needed occasionally to please and fan the egos of men. That is not correct.

In addition, the Bible says in Proverbs 12:4 “A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband.” A virtuous woman is a crown and not a cap to her husband. She is an honour and not an appendage to her husband. When you are married, treat your wife with honour and not like a cap that you can dispose of anytime or like any of your jewelries that you can change as you like.

That women are men’s property, tools and possessions. So, they can be used anyhow: Again, this is another lie of the devil. The devil wants us to treat women as objects in the house rather than as subjects. The implication of this lie is that women were created as mere tools for men. They are like balls that can be played or thrown up and down. They are punching bags that can be beaten to test men’s masculinity and strength. That is why some men beat and abuse their wives. Women are not slaves of men just as property and possessions are slaves and belongings of men. Men who believe this lie maltreat their wives and humiliate them. Such men beat their wives. They abuse them. They starve them and dishonor them. They believe they own their wives and that they have the liberty to do anything they like with them since they are their possessions. This is not correct. It is a lie of the devil.

Ephesians 5:25 says “husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.” In I Peter 3:7, the Bible asks the husband to give honour unto his wife because both of you are ‘heirs together of the grace of life.’ That the Bible says the wife must be in subjection to her own husband according to I Peter 3:1 does not make your wife your slave and personal possession that must be seen but not to be heard. This is a lie of the devil. You must not believe this either before or after your marriage. The Lord will help you.

Prayers

If you are not into any relationship, the God of Heaven will connect you to your destined spouse in the name of Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ, I release the man/woman that the Lord has preordained for you. Every barrier that is hindering you from locating your partner is removed now in the name of Jesus Christ. Every curse, delay and limitation that the devil has placed upon your marital life is removed now by the power in the blood of Jesus Christ. I command the hands of the wicked manipulating your life to wither now in the name of Jesus Christ. You will not be married to the wrong partner in the name of Jesus Christ. You will not fall in love with your enemy, and you will not hate your destined spouse in the name of Jesus Christ. You will marry the bone of your bones and the flesh of your flesh. You will not be put to shame. Very soon, you will share your testimony, and you will sing a new song of victory in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
