Myopia and shallow mindedness is like the order of my society. we are too blinded by unnecessary things that we don’t see the important things. we judge people but when in their shoes, we don’t want to be judged. our small mind has cost us a lot of opportunities because we don’t want to leave that bubble of ignorance. i wrote this when i looked around me and imagined what we could do if our eyes were wide open. enjoy!
There is this tall giant metal wall,
This mental wall at the back of your mind
There is this tiny piece of dust,
A tiny piece of dust you can’t see in your eyes
You can’t see the writings on the wall
You only see what you want to.
You only imagine what you want and you can’t look beyond what you see,
Because of the wall in your mind and the dust in your eyes
Only if you break down that wall with your faith,
And remove the dust with your state of mind
Anything you imagine is possible.
But you create boundaries and unnecessary rules,
You lock your mind and shut your eyes from the beauty of the world.
Eventually, you live terrible and die unfulfilled.
And you failed to realize the secret to living is breaking down those walls and taking a small giant leap of faith.
There is this sad lonely girl,
This sad lonely girl you only see when it is raining
There is this terrified gloomy girl,
This gloomy girl you only see when dark clouds have gathered
When bad things happen and people leave,
It starts raining and we can’t really see it
We can’t see it because it is not happening to us.
But the only thing we see is the sad lonely girl.
When failure comes knocking and no one stands by her,
Dark clouds gather and we don’t even realize it
We don’t realize it because we don’t really care
The only thing we see is the terrified gloomy girl.
We have been these girls a lot of times,
But we can’t see ourselves, people can only see us.
And don’t you think sometimes that’s what they see when bad things happen and we are sad.
You just have to take a step back and remember we are all the same eventually.
We can only let the dark clouds clear and the rain stop,
If we stand by each other and be a friend to that sad and gloomy girl.
