FOUNDATIONAL ISSUES IN MARRIAGE: BEWITCHMENT
I welcome you to the August edition of the Singles’ World. For some time, we have addressed foundational issues in marriage. This is because most marriages hit the rock because of foundational problems that are usually very problematic, knotty, thorny and difficult to tackle. I pray that the Lord will help you to recognise this indisputable fact and avoid the pitfalls that have wrecked many homes in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Bewitched People: The world is full of sane and insane people, normal and abnormal people, senseless and sensible people and foolish and wise people. The list is endless. This describes the world in which we all live with people having different religious, philosophical and theological persuasions, even though my focus in this series is on born-again Christians. Unfortunately, everybody wants to marry, irrespective of their psychological and mental status. Everybody thinks it is time to get married, and then they get married with their health disorders and bewitchments, which in most cases are not understood by them.
Today, many people in society have been bewitched. It takes diligence and a good sense of judgement to discern these people. There are people who travel from Nigeria to the UK or USA for work and studies. With diabolical interventions, their spirits are invoked and summoned to return to Nigeria or to their home countries against their wills and decisions. Such people, if they are not strong born-again Christians, are bound to answer this demonic summon and call wherever they are and whatever they are engaged in.
Such demonic calls are usually compelling, imposing and authoritative. This person is bewitched. This means that such a person is under the control of witchcraft powers, which are irresistible. When such a person returns to his home country, he is something else. He may return empty without any certificate or degree, without any achievement or property. His hopes are dashed irredeemably and irreparably. This is just the beginning of his problem. He will now surreptitiously become a nuisance to his or her society at large.
Some manifestations of a bewitched person are as follows:
- They behave strangely and erratically. Their behaviour is strangely unusual. In addition, they display extreme emotions such as anxiety, irrational anger and unjustifiable phobia. Such individuals are unusually temperamental and uncontrollable when they become angry. In fact, they tend to kill when they are angry because there are demonic powers that manipulate them.
- Some of them engage in uncontrollable actions. For instance, they perform actions without conscious intention, which in most cases are always harmful to people.
- Because they are already jinxed by demonic forces, they can hardly achieve anything good in life.
- Disconnection from reality: Since they have been disconnected prematurely from following their passions in life, life then becomes blurry to them. They chase shadows in life. Any attempt to bring them to the path of reality will be violently resisted.
- They are always full of regrets. They will hardly encourage you to make it in life. In fact, they are sadists, taking pleasure in inflicting pains on others.
Bewitched and jinxed people are common in society today. They will appear nice and friendly. Their communication skills maybe fantastic. They may appear decent in some public and official gatherings, but at other times, they may be cantankerous, belligerent, unpredictable and irritable. They are like demons camouflaging as angels of light. They are ravening wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Getting married to a bewitched man is similar to getting married to a mad man. Since his progress has been halted, yours, as a wife, will also be halted. Since he has been abruptly cut off from the path of success, such a man will never allow you to make any progress in life. Rather, he will suck all the resources that you have dry. Such men are wicked and irresponsible. Their demands bother on food and sex from their wives, and in most cases, their demands are too excessive.
If you marry a bewitched woman, you will be a dead man from the onset of your marriage. You may not survive the marriage. Such a woman is hypersensitive, stubborn and not submissive. She is irritable, easily confused and mentally disoriented. She always battles persecutory disorders. She will be reporting frequently her encounters with supernatural entities and so on and so forth. A bewitched person has been captured and hypnotised by witchcraft powers. His will has been subdued. His actions and conduct are directly influenced by demonic forces. Although the bewitched person may suspect this, he is spiritually powerless in overturning the spell.
This is a serious foundational error that no marriage counsellor or pastor can resolve. How can you resolve the marriage between a sane person and an insane person, and between light and darkness? The answer is separation, which most pastors will not want to suggest, or else the other partner may be exposed to endless lives of physical abuse, sexual abuse, mental torture, and emotional stress, which can culminate in mental disorders or even premature death.
Prevention is not just always better than cure; it is always cheaper and safer. Many people are under spell in society today, and they are living among us planning to marry our sons and daughters. May you not fall into their hands. If you are already a victim, may the Lord deliver you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
By the grace of God, we will continue from here next month. Please do not forget to send me your comments and testimonies. If you are not born again, please surrender your life to Jesus Christ today. Tomorrow may be too late. Until then, God bless you. Amen.
