Well, Thank God its Friday and Tomie has decided to share her thoughts about a topic that is quite sensitive these days. Nobody is judging and we are all entitled to our opinions and i actually laughed a lot reading this. Read, enjoy, share and comment!
This isn’t to spite, judge or insult anyone or their lifestyle, it’s just the truth and remember the truth isn’t an easy pill to swallow. So pardon me if I unintentionally refer to you in this, its all fun and games but real talk!
So I was on my bed the other day when I heard a boy died the night before his final papers, worst part was baba overdosed. First thing that crossed my mind was, why? Why would someone throw away their life just because of some insane stuff like that? You know, I’m actually tired of our generation constantly ripping the future away from ourselves just because of some pleasure of a few minutes, I mean this stuff literally kills you. I even know people with respiratory issues and these dudes keep smoking weed and doing drugs, it’s like “se e gbojo iku ni?” (Do you have a death sentence ni?). Apart from the fact that it practically shuts down the lungs and the liver, this stuff actually makes people go mad like literally. What pains me more is when people make excuses for it, I mean *side eyes* I literally want to whoop their asses and go full out on them. Truth is if we were to set up a panel to discuss this vice, just like discussing Nigeria’s unending problems, we’d be on that panel a long time. And while some know the repercussions of what they do and some others choose to lie in the bliss of ignorance, we all have to face the fact that this is WRONG and INSANE period! There are so many stories of people’s destinies which have been truncated by this thing, the many consequences are unending. Some people keep fighting battles with an enemy they can’t seem to find, not knowing they are their own enemy.
Enough said, all I’m saying is, smoking weed, doing drugs and drinking (yes, even drinking) and the likes are eating deeply and fast into our generation. Honestly speaking, I don’t think it’ll be good to do all that in your youth and then when you grow up and have all you ever wanted, your enjoying life will now be cut short by lung or liver cancer or disease. It’s not worth it! So just like the world has gotten over the fact that Kim K did a sex tape or that Britain isn’t in the EU anymore, can we please get over this and stop being detrimental to ourselves.
